Comparing the Executive Compensation Reform Proposals
With health care reform complete, Washington is now turning its attention to addressing issues in the financial services sector. In December 2009, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4173, the “Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009,” which is now pending in the Senate. And, just last week, the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs approved the “Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010,” which was sent to the Senate floor for debate and consideration. Both bills contain a number of proposals that would reform existing executive compensation practices.
