Laney Beres, Affiliate Principal

Laney has more than 15 years of compensation and management consulting experience. Her consulting focuses on advising senior management and Boards of Directors in many facets of executive, Board and employee compensation, including pay strategy and incentive program design. Laney has extensive experience in performance management design and program implementation. She also specializes in custom survey services, and is head of the annual San Diego Biotechnology Employee Development Coalition (BEDC) Compensation Survey. Prior to joining Compensia, Laney was a Principal of iQuantic and Buck Consultants/Mellon.

Laney received a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Masters of Industrial Organizational Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.

Allan McCall, Principal

Allan was a co-founder and Principal with Compensia from 2003-2008. In 2008, Allan reduced his consulting workload and enrolled in a Ph.D. Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he is researching issues of corporate governance and compensation.

Prior to co-founding Compensia, Allan was the Vice President of Compensation and Benefits for Providian Financial. Before joining Providian, Allan was a consultant for iQuantic, Inc.

Allan received a BA in economics from Yale University and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the Stanford GSB.

Barbara Nitzkowski, Affiliate Principal

Barbara has more than 20 years of experience in the design and implementation of compensation systems, including executive and board compensation programs, broad-based pay systems, and equity, cash, and sales incentive plans. Most recently Barbara was a Principal with Mellon Financial Corporation, and prior to that was a Principal with iQuantic, Inc. Earlier she was a consultant with Sibson & Company, Inc. and was a Vice President of Human Resources with Fidelity Bank. Her experience as both a consultant and senior manager provides her with a unique understanding of client issues and results in practical solutions which support each client's business situation, operating environment and value system.

She has specialized expertise with technology companies, medical device firms and foundations. Barbara graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach and has completed graduate studies with the Centre dê Etudes Francaises in Avignon, France.
